It isn’t necessary but I do think it’s good to find a buddy to start with and learn the game with, but once you get really good at the game, which you will if you keep consistent with it, you will find yourself enjoying the solo experience a lot more. Sometimes I make a drinking game out of Terrorist Hunt. I feel like I have gotten my money's worth from early access. For $20 I already have almost 100hrs of gameplay.
